Overhead roller shutters from GM PLAST are available in various versions. They are mounted to the window from above, and the box and window are mounted in the opening together - ideal for renovation and new construction. They can be seen with a white plastic fascia panel, also laminated in the colour of the window on request, with a powder-coated aluminium fascia panel or completely integrated into the façade as a model with gypsum board; also available as a complete system with an integrated mosquito net roller shutter. Overhead roller shutters are also available as a complete system with integrated mosquito net roller shutters and provide effective thermal insulation in accordance with current energy saving regulations.

Functionality
The overhead roller shutter system is a highly technologically advanced solution that has been developed to improve the energy balance of a building. The product can be used both in newly erected buildings and existing buildings during the replacement of window joinery. The assembly of the roller shutters consists in the direct mounting of the roller shutter box on the window frame using a suitably selected adaptive profile. There are several variants available in the GM PLAST offer, which are adapted to the 90% profiles available on the market. Our overhead roller shutter system has been designed to be completely insulated, thanks to which the roller shutter box remains an unnoticeable element of the building façade.
Construction
The main element of this product is the roller shutter box, which is made of a material specially designed on behalf of GM PLAST with very good thermal properties. It is available in two sizes: 260x260mm and 300x300mm. An advantage of the new product is also the possibility to choose the inspection flap from the inside or outside of the room, which is extremely important for maintenance services. The clever design of the system makes it possible to use the facade blind mechanism in the box. As a result, external roller shutters and façade blinds can be aesthetically combined on the same façade, ensuring a uniform appearance of the building façade. The roller shutter mantle can be made of foam-filled and plastic profiles. Roller shutters in the STYROTERM system can be fitted with mosquito nets mounted in the roller shutter box. Thanks to the click technology, it is very quick and easy to install.
Simplicity of operation
Depending on the user's needs, the roller shutters can be controlled manually, with an electric motor via a wall transmitter or remote control, or with intelligent control via a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Advantages
GM PLAST roller shutters are an extremely versatile solution. In winter, the system reduces heat loss through windows and doors, in summer it protects rooms from overheating. This allows significant savings of up to 30% per year. What is more, thanks to its integration with a mosquito net, it constitutes a barrier protecting the interior of the house against the presence of bothersome insects.
Requirements
Our roller shutters have had preliminary type tests carried out by an accredited laboratory and are available to customers of the system. In addition, special parameters such as thermal resistance, air permeability or acoustic insulation have been determined. Tests at the renowned IFT ROSENHEIM research institute have shown that the proposed solution is characterised by an extremely high heat transfer coefficient Usb as low as 0.40 W/m²-K, which puts the system at the forefront of other products of its kind.
